It is customary, for all but the simplest of tools, to have a design review meeting with the customer before finalizing the mold design and proceeding with construction. Part function, features, raw material, and tolerances, are discussed along with tool construction, and location of gating and ejectors. In some instances, minor changes to the part design are incorporated which improve the part in some way. Once everyone understands the special requirements of the part and the tooling to be constructed, the design can be quickly finalized.
